Story

Hannah
Our daughter was the perfect baby girl, but at 9 days old she got a high fever and was very ill. For the next two years, she continuously was ill with many different viruses, including spiking high fevers and rashes. At 2 1/2 years old, Hannah was diagnosed with Systemic Juvenile Arthritis. I knew kids could get arthritis, but not our baby girl. Hannah has been on many aggressive treatments to find relief and stop the progression of the disease. This type of auto-immune disease can affect internal organs, her eyes as well as joints throughout her body. Hannah currently receives medications through her port every 14 days and takes chemo shots weekly at home, as well as several other medications. Hannah is homeschooled as well as her 10 year old brother, who also has systemic juvenile arthritis. She doesn't let her disease stop her from loving life. She's a ball of fire and lights up every room she enters. Hannah has a huge heart and loves to please others in anyway small or big way. We hope more research will result in better treatment options and find a cure for Hannah, and her brother, Jake as well as the other 300,000 children who suffer from childhood arthritis.
